Beckett at 3 months; Portland Oregon Baby Photography

I am the lucky girl who gets to photograph sweet little Beckett every 3 months for his first year! Seriously….you’re just a smidge jealous, right? He kills me with cuteness every time I look into those big eyes and he bats his illegally long eyelashes. At 3 months old, the smiles just start to really come out and sometimes I can even get a coo or two from the little ones. I like to make the 3rd month photos about the family and the changes that have come about with the addition of this new little life. These sessions tend to be more “lifestyle” portraits, telling a story about life as it is with a new baby and after the newborn stage has really sunken in. Looks like Beckett’s family has adjusted very well. There were loads of little smiles, coos, and kisses. I can’t wait to go back for more this Fall!

Fun at Oaks Park! {Portland, Oregon Children’s Photography}

Rocco’s a people watcher like me! He was so interested in watching all the people coming and going at Oaks Park. I think he could have been happy to sit in the grass and people watch for a good part of the afternoon. (Me too, buddy…me too!) After lots of silly jumping and squealing and general goofiness, we got some smiles and giggles. I do love the photos of him in his contemplative state though. His eyes are seriously the biggest and bluest eyes I’ve seen on a little guy in a long time! Happy birthday to little Rocco and many more happy returns.

This family of three has just recently become a family of four with the addition of a little girl! We did a family/maternity mini session to capture there anticipation of her arrival and get a few photos of them as the threesome they’d been for the past two years.

These two spunky sweeties participated in my spring mini session special. Every once in a while I do one of these types of deals. It’s especially great for families and children over the age of 3 (the under 3 set usually needs longer to warm up and not hide from the camera, but there are exceptions to that rule!) to update photos and have a few images to give to grandparents. Running around, playing, laughing, picking dandelions, soaking in the sunshine….it was all a part of our morning together and I enjoyed every second!

K.t is bubbly, happy, talkative, warm and a total extravert. On top of that, she is polite and kind and has big, bright blue eyes that are a dream to photograph. I hear she’s a darn good softballer too. K.t had a headshot session earlier in the Fall in order to make her school’s yearbook deadline, but as soon as the weather got a little nicer we got together again for her full senior session a few weeks ago.

Amy and David, Battle Ground Washington Wedding Photography

Amy and Dave were introduced through mutual friends. They laugh a lot, take adventures and, on their wedding day, were surrounded by loving family and friends. The few days leading up to the wedding were a bit touch and go stress-wise. David, having flown in from Ottawa Canada had picked up some sort of flu bug on the plane and was puking his guts out for a while. He didn’t eat anything for the three days leading up to the wedding and was feeling rather puny from it. On the eve of the wedding day, Amy too started to feel queasy. “This is it,” she thought. “My wedding day is just going to be one big puke fest.” Then she began the process of planning out where to position buckets throughout the cermony and reception in order to just make it through the day. The thought of postponing becoming David’s wife never crossed her mind. Needless to say, the “for better or for worse” part of the vows got a chuckle from the crowd.

The wedding day was perfect. The rain that had poured for 21 straight days paused for the day and we got some sunshine, the pink cherry blossoms bloomed and we were able to do outdoor portraits (even though it was chilly). The sun was shining on this sweet couple that day. Here’s to many more days of “better” and very few of “worse”.

Erica & Bobby, Battle Ground, Washington Wedding Photography

When I first met Erica and Bobby, my first impression was that they love to smile and laugh with each other. It makes those around them feel comfortable. Erica’s infectious laugh and beautiful smile is spurred on by Bobby’s quick wit and dry humor. For their engagement session, we stayed close to home, taking full advantage of the beauty that can be found in Battle Ground, WA. We visited Battle Ground Lake State Park and then hit up some location jewels on Main Street. I had so much fun and I cannot wait to capture their wedding coming up in 6 short weeks!

Emily and Mike were wed on the most perfect November day. The sun came out and set the fall colors on fire and lit up the white marble of the Portland Temple, making it nearly glow. Emily and Mike were surrounded by friends and family who were so supportive and happy for them. It was a glorious day. Here are just a couple of my favorites to share!

Chelan is a natural in front of the camera. Every time I started to direct her, she already moved her arm or head or whatever body part I was wanting to change position into exactly the spot I’d been wanting. It was freezing cold up in the higher elevations in The Dalles where we did our shoot, but despite the goosebumps, Chelan rocked it! Congrats on your senior year! I look forward to our second session with the spring flowers!

He was only planning on staying a year. It was January when he came to the Northwest, wearing shorts and flip flops. Needless to say, the move what a huge adjustment, but he was only supposed to be here one year. That is, until he met her. Three years later, and many warmer outfit choices later, they’re getting married. We spent one Fall afternoon at Kruger’s Farm on Sauvie Island capturing their connection. It was my pleasure and I look forward to their wedding next summer.
