I met up with Ann-Marie one cold, crisp, sunshiney day at the always beautiful Multnomah Falls. We hike around all of the nooks and crannies, all the while enjoying the stunning Fall colors. Ann-Marie opted to split her session up into two half sessions; one in the Fall and another in the Spring when the flowers are blooming and the pink buds are glowing on the trees. I am excited to get to photograph her beautiful face again! Here are a few of my favorites from her Fall senior portrait shoot.

Luke and Catherine :: Columbia River Gorge Wedding

Luke and Catherine met on their first day of classes in college. They were drawn to one another. Luke’s eyes are sparkling and his calm demeanor draws you in. Catherine has an easy smile and an infectious laugh. They are both ambitious, and fun loving, and their friends would tell you they are truly amazing people to have in their lives. It was my honor to photograph their wedding day, one warm, late afternoon along the Columbia River in The Gorge in a tiny town called Rowena, just outside The Dalles. The sun was golden, the breeze cool right off the water, and the wind surfers kept us all entertained as they whizzed up and back on the rippling water. Here’s just a taste of Luke and Catherine’s beautiful day!

It was such a gorgeous morning out in the cherry orchards in The Dalles the day I met the Radfords. As any mom can tell you, taking photos of a two year old can be tough. Make ‘em two year old twins and there’s a lot of running, tickling and bribing with Smartee’s involved! I loved every minute of it!

Miranda is all sorts of rad. She’s spunky, vivacious and beautiful both on the inside and the outside. She’s planning on persuing marketing next year when she attends college. Our session was so much fun. We laughed. A lot. I adore laughing.

Emily :: The Dalles, OR Senior Portrait Photography

Her soft voice and sweet demeanor made it so comfortable to get to know Emily on our Senior Portrait shoot. Emily chose to do her photoshoot in tandem with a friend! It was like a little girl time and photoshoot in one! Can go wrong with that! I just love her gorgeous eyes and that dimple was killing me with cuteness! It’s almost time for graduation and I know great things are in store for this girl!

K.t is bubbly, happy, talkative, warm and a total extravert. On top of that, she is polite and kind and has big, bright blue eyes that are a dream to photograph. I hear she’s a darn good softballer too. K.t had a headshot session earlier in the Fall in order to make her school’s yearbook deadline, but as soon as the weather got a little nicer we got together again for her full senior session a few weeks ago.

Chelan is a natural in front of the camera. Every time I started to direct her, she already moved her arm or head or whatever body part I was wanting to change position into exactly the spot I’d been wanting. It was freezing cold up in the higher elevations in The Dalles where we did our shoot, but despite the goosebumps, Chelan rocked it! Congrats on your senior year! I look forward to our second session with the spring flowers!

Zach :: Class of 2011 :: Jennifer O’Donnell Photography, Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

Zach has an easy smile and a quiet, friendly personality to go with it. Our session took place in The Dalles, Oregon amidst the gorgeous fall colored leaves, moss covered stones and brightly painted buildings of downtown The Dalles. Zach was up for anything and was even game to pose by the trains in the pouring rain (I however, was not that brave! My camera wouldn’t have taken to the rain too well.) Have I ever mentioned how much I adore red hair???! Oh, yes, and Zach’s is the most perfect shade of red too. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at this session despite the rain drops. Congratulations to Zach and the rest of the class of 2011 seniors!

Caroline :: Jennifer O’Donnell Photography, Portland Oregon Senior Portraits

Caroline’s session in The Dalles was exciting to say the least! When we first arrived at her house, her mom told us that we’d be going down the road to a large plot of land that is home to some horses set out to pasture. The horses don’t get a lot of human contact that anyone knows of, so when people go have been on the land, the horses have acted a bit aggressive. Not to worry though, because Caroline’s mom was coming with us and she was bringing the whips to protect us. Me, being the wild outdoors woman I am (ha ha), wasn’t the least bit nervous (yeah, right). Sure enough, as soon as we started the trek down to the abandoned house and barn on the property where we hoped to shoot, one of the horses spotted us. Quickly all the horse were alerted to our presence and they came running. Caroline’s mom kept us safe by yelling at the horses to stop. It was pretty awesome to witness. We shot between some rain showers inside the old abandoned farm house complete with collapsing roof and torn floorboards. Then we headed over to the old barn, erected on stacked up rocks forming a makeshift foundation, and held together by thick wooden nails. A perfectly beautiful rustic location and a photographer’s dream. Caroline’s smile shone brightly throughout the rain showers that passed in and out during our session and at the end, she even tamed the wild beasts! I thought a shot of her with the horses in the backdrop would be beautiful, and she went so far as to reach her hand out to them and stand right next to them. It was amazing. Congrats to Caroline and the rest of the 2011 Senior class!

For Katie’s session, I traveled to the gorgeous city of The Dalles. We drove around town and found some little location gems and were lucky enough to get our session in between rain showers. Katie brought a few different changes, her mom and a good friend…all perfect to bring along to a session to make sure she got lots of different looks, and lots of great smiles. I have to admit, I love shooting in The Dalles! It’s just so beautiful there! Congrats to the senior class of 2011!
