I am not a traditional studio photographer, but rather choose to take a more photojournalistic approach to children and family portraiture, capturing you in the moment - laughing, loving and interacting just as you do every day. I prefer to stand back and capture life as it happens. A session with me is never rushed, never uncomfortable, never about seeking a "cheese-face" grin. We went out to explore a park we hadn’t been to along the Columbia River. The rocky beach was perfect for finding interesting stones. We happened upon this one shaped like a heart and I knew I wanted a photo of my chubby fingered little one holding it. I snapped these two photos super fast and then I heard a big BLOP! He’d tossed it into the river! HA! Because what’s better than throwing rocks into the water?
