Ashley and Will were married at the historic Viewpoint Inn in Corbett, Oregon in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge over the weekend. The ceremony was touching, the family warm and welcoming and the location was astonishingly beautiful, as was the bride herself in her designer gown. Thank you to Jenifer of Jenifer Johnston Photography for having me along for this glorious event.

Katrina and Nate celebrated their wedding in front of family and friends at the glorious McMenamin’s Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. You may recall their vintage amusement park engagement session we did several months ago. Their cermony took place in Blackberry Meadow under an arching green leafy tree as the sun set over the vineyards. It was a beautiful day.

Jessica and James are obviously so happily in love! Their engagement shoot was pretty quick since we were being eaten alive by mosquitos at the park, but we had fun despite the nagging bugs! I feel so lucky to get to photograph their wedding this coming Fall! I’m sure it will be an event filled with happiness and laughter.

Jessica and Daniel celebrated their vows over fourth of July weekend at a family vineyard in Petaluma, CA. It was my honor to be able to share their day with them. The skies were perfectly blue, and the couple so obviously commmitted to one another. It was an amazing experience! Jessica and Daniel opted to have me fly out to CA rather than hire someone already residing in the area. It’s a smart choice and something to consider if you’re going to be married in an area where photography services perhaps are a bit more spendy. The moral of the stroy is, find a photographer you love and then see if it would be in your budget to fly them to your wedding destination. It may save you some money in the end.

I was accompanied by the lovely and talented Jenifer of Jenifer Johnston Photography. Some of the photos below are her stunning work.

Now on to the photos!

The day began with Jessica and Daniel’s first look at Saint Vincent du Paul’s Catholic Church in Petaluma, CA. This was the moment Daniel first got to see his glowing bride in her gorgeous wedding gown. I am always excited when couples choose to see one another prior to the ceremony and have a little private “first look” moment. It feels special and intimate and allows them time to calm any nerves they may be having.

The next stop was the Petaluma Visitor’s Center with it’s perfect arches letting in the most phenomenal light!

Right outside the Visitors Center are some old abandoned train cars. Jessica didn’t even question our sanity when we asked her to climb up onto the dirty caboose. I think the images prove that a stunning portrait doesn’t always have to take place at a pristine location. Jess and Dan, you ROCKED it!

Next stop was the actual wedding site; a family plot of land out in the hills of Petaluma featuring plenty of weather worn out buildings, barns, tall golden grasses, cows, curly trees, and a vineyard!

The wedding party was comprised of family and close friends. Eveyone was so welcoming and fun and GORGEOUS!

Daniel is a Ranger in the US Army and a bunch of his buddies were able to make it to celebrate with the happy couple.

The ceremony was perfect and intimate.

There was a live band at the reception and everyone danced the night away. We even were treated to a heartfelt rendition of “God Bless America” sung by the military guys!

Finally, as the sun crept closer to setting, we snuck away for a few shots in the vineyard way up in the hills.

As we were driving away, I couldn’t resist a snap of this dairy cow, quietly munching on grass at the top of a hill. What a perfect evening.

Caitlin and Kyle were married in the company of friends and family over Memorial Day weekend in The Dalles, Oregon. The day was a perfect puffy white clouds – cool breeze – relaxed sort of day, and the bride and groom were cool as cucumbers, laughing and hanging out with friends and family before and after the ceremony. It was a wonderful day. I was lucky enough to get to have the talented Jenifer Johnston of Jenifer Johnston Photography and Polkadot Photography assist me. We had a blast celebrating with the happy couple. Congratulations and best wishes for a marriage as happy and comfortable as the wedding was!

Nicole and Jon :: Portland, Oregon & Vancouver, Washington Wedding Photographer

Nicole and Jon are getting married this summer and I cannot wait for all the vintage/country touches that are in the works as they plan and prepare for their big day! For their engagement session this morning, we headed to a farm in Sherwood where we could take advantage of the old barn wood, and rustic surroundings. We set up a little picnic blanket scene to compliment the sweet outfits Nicole and Jon put together. I love when a couple is as excited about their photographs as I am and go out of their way to dress up or a bit quirky to add some personal flavor to thier photos. Victoria & Nate :: OMSI :: Portland, Oregon Wedding Photography

It was blustery, damp and chilly out this morning, but Victoria and Nate didn’t let that get in the way of being FABULOUS for their engagement session at OMSI and around the waterfront area in Portland. I’m so looking forward to their wedding in September! The connection these two have is very deep and apparent from the moment you meet them. Congratulations again Victoria and Nate!

Katrina and Nate, Oaks Amusement Park :: Portland, Oregon & Vancouver, WA Wedding Photographer

Nate and Katrina wanted a fun and different kind of engagement shoot, so while talking about themes, I suggested Oaks Amusement Park and a 50’s Rockabilly type theme. They were all for it! We started the day shooting them in more traditional clothes and then they changed into their styled outfits. I love Katrina’s 50’s rockabilly-inspired dress and deep red lips and Nate’s fedora, red suspenders and walking cane that he sanded and torched and finished himself. They looked like celebrities walking about the Midway all dressed up. People stopped and watched, commenting on how great they looked. It was really fun! I had a blast with these two and can’t wait for their wedding in July!
