Brooke is my senior rep for the class of 2011. Earlier we did her portrait session and this go around, we focused on her dancing. She’s a phenomenal dancer with such grace. It was stunningly beautiful to watch her dancing out in the golden sunlight at sunset. Here are a few of my favorites so far!

Senior Season {Vancouver WA Photographer/Senior Portraits}

I’ve been so lucky to get to meet and photograph so many high school seniors this year! Tonight was no exception. Congratulations on your senior year, M! And best of luck with your plans for after school.

Not Your Ordinary School Photos

Remember getting your school photo back and being all excited only to find out you had a huge eye booger and a cowlick the size of Texas? Plus, you only got one chance to smile your best smile and try not to make it look fake. So you practiced your smile in the mirror for days prior to getting your photo done, then, as you’re sitting there on the hard plastic cube under the hot and orange tinged lights, they ask you to do the unimaginable. “Say CHEESE!” Ugh. Now you’ve given them a big fat fake smile and your stuck with it. Forever.

You don’t always have to go with the posed, canned smiled, cowlick immortalizing, traditional photos that you get through the school. It’s fun to think outside the box sometimes. These three kids are all set for the school year now having gotten their school photos out of the way early. No need to practice those smiles in the mirror or use extra hair gel. And those eye boogers? No one will ever know.

Modelling at the Magic Hour

Miss B, her mom and I drove around and found some yummy golden light to take some portfolio photos. This aspiring model had it down pat. The poses, the pouts, the smouldering eyes….yep, model material for sure. Best of luck B! I’m sure you’ll go far!

Evening Light

My absolute favorite time to shoot is in the evening around 7:30. I took one of my muses out for some location scouting around town and am loving the results. Thank you Miss H for another fabulous session and for being so happy to play photoshoot with me!
